PADI Night Diver Specialty Course Most divers find night diving fascinating yet alluring. At night, the familiar dive site takes on a new aura and new adventure. Darkness lays a veil which you penetrate with your lights as you explore. Night diving isn't difficult, and a few guidelines and procedures make night diving even more fun & safe. The PADI Night Diver Specialty course teaches you these procedure and lets you practice them under the supervision of a PADI Instructor. The PADI Night Diver Specialty course is divided into Knowledge Development (which is usually achieved by home study, i.e. manual & video) and Open Water Training. The knowledge Development portion expands your knowledge about night diving equipment, evaluating dive conditions at night, using and maintaining dive lights, night navigation, aquatic life and other topics. You'll make a minimum of 3 Open Water Dives during the course, however; if you are already an Advanced Open Water Diver, your may credit the Advanced Open Water Night Elective Dive to your Specialty Certification. When you successfully complete the course, you'll be awarded the PADI Night Diver certification. This qualifies you to plan, organise and make night dives in conditions similar or better than those which you trained in.
