Dive Courses Phuket - PADI Underwater Naturalist PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty Course The purpose of the PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty Diver course is to cover the following four areas / topics. 1. Create an awareness. The submarine world is different from the terrestrial world. Those who venture underwater are in a unique position to observe and interact with organisms entirely different than those on land. 2. Evoke a sense of responsibility. With any privilege comes responsibility. It is the responsibility of recreational divers to accept and foster a sense of respect for aquatic organisms. 3. Expand the public's knowledge of the aquatic environment and dispel myths about potentially dangerous aquatic life by providing accurate, factual information about animals such as sharks, eels, jellyfish and others. 4. Recruit non-divers. The course is designed to act as a vehicle for recruiting non-divers into the sport by introducing them to the beauty and wonder of the underwater realm. The PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty course consists of home study / Instructor lectures and a minimum of 2 Open Water dives.
