PADI Equipment Specialist Course The purpose of the PADI Equipment Specialist course is to familiarise divers with the operation and maintenance of diving equipment. It is not an Equipment repair course. Training relative to the repairing and overhauling or equipment, except for very minor servicing, is not part of the curriculum. The goals of training are: 1. Develop the student's practical knowledge of the theory, principles and operation of diving equipment. 2. Enable students to perform routine, recommended care and maintenance procedures. 3. Enable the student to store equipment properly. 4. Provide students with simple suggestions for comfortable equipment configurations. 5. Introduce students to new equipment. The PADI Equipment Specialist course consists of home study and Instructor lectures . Prerequisites: PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver or Equivalent.
