PADI Divemaster Course

There is probably no other term in diving with a more diverse meaning than PADI Divemaster.  Traditionally, this term has been used to denote one who is "in charge" of a diving activity or dive site.

The PADI Divemaster may act as a guide, a supervisor or an Instructional Assistant and is the first Professional qualification on the PADI Professional ladder.  Attaining this qualification will open work opportunities worldwide and allow you to get valuable experience before continuing to Instructor level.

To ensure high quality, the PADI Divemaster course was thoroughly tested and refined to make it one of the finest programs of diver education in existence.  The goals of the course are as follows:

1. To enable the candidate to organize, conduct and supervise diving activities, both land and boat-based.

2. To enable the candidate to act effectively as an Instructional Assistant to a certified PADI Instructor.

3. To develop the candidate's theoretical diving knowledge to a level sufficient to become a PADI Instructor.

4. To encourage and prepare the candidate for Instructional training.

Training Phases

Module 1.  Remedial training in general watermanship skills & diving skills.  Testing of the candidates diver-rescue ability.

Module 2.  Knowledge Development in areas of diving physics, diving physiology, equipment, diving skills & environment, dive planning, dive control & management and supervising students in training.

Module 3.  Practical assessment / internship.

This course is usually scheduled over a period of 4 weeks which gives the candidate the opportunity to gain valuable experience working with PADI Instructors as during real life teaching situations.  If extra time is needed or required, additional time can be provided to at for minimal cost.

What does a real working Divemaster do?

• Work at local dive centers, on live-aboard dive boats, yachts and at exotic resort locations
• Assist PADI Instructors with students
• Lead PADI Scuba Divers on guided dive tours
• Teach and certify PADI Skin Divers
• Teach PADI Discover Snorkelling programs
• Conduct PADI Scuba Review programs for certified divers
• Lead certified divers on Discover Local Diving experiences
• Teach Emergency First Response programs after successful completion of an Emergency First Response Instructor course.

To enroll in this course you need to have:

• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or qualifying certification from another training organization
• PADI Rescue Diver certification or qualifying certification from another training organization.
• Medical clearance signed by a physician
• 20 logged dives
• 18 years old

Silver package includes Academic Training in the classroom,

Confined Water Training real students, Open Water Training on 1 Liveaboard boat trip to the Similan Islands ( if possible due to logistics of course schedule and Candidate flexibility and schedule) with real students,

Open Water Training with real students on day trips and beach dives,

Confined Water Training for Divemaster Candidates to improve their skills to demonstration quality.

Rescue rehearsals, practice and training,

Various activities designed to create and mould the recreational diver into a trained professional ready to embark upon a career in the recreational diving industry.

Divemaster Manual & Slates

Gold package includes Silver package plus  Diving Knowledge Workbook, Divemaster Embroidered Emblem, Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving.

Platinum package includes Gold package except that the Diving Knowledge Workbook and Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving are CD-ROM multimedia versions and also includes the Divemaster video.
